Tetsuo Advance Beta released

So much time since I did my last update... Anyway, this has been sitting in my hard drive for some time so I decided to release it before it's too late. This release is "public domain", under 2 conditions. Learn more about him in the Mugen Characters section.

Oni upgraded to v1.55 (100%), with Team Moves and Simul Tag

There isn't much to explain actually. Same treatment as Elias, Oni got his team moves with Cassandra and full character switch support (see the readme for more info), more palettes, an optional button layout, the CHANGE meter, more optimized sound, and a "memory friendly" version with low-res effects for computers low on resources. You can get in the Mugen Characters section.

Small update of Elias Patrick to v1.55, Simul Tag mode added

A small update, following a friend's advice, I added R.o.q.u.e.'s Tag code to Elias, adding support for full character switch RotD style with characters equipped with it.

2/18/2003
Elias Patrick updated to v1.5 (100%), with Team Moves

Finally I have a version I can call 100 % :). Additions are: "tag" and Team Duplex combo with Alice, more palettes, an optional Capcom-style button layout, and the CHANGE meter to control Team moves. No AI still though, sorry. I've also optimized the sound samples, so although the character has more sprites now, he actually consumes less memory than before. Besides, there is also a "light" version with low-resolution effects for those with memory problems. You can find him in the Mugen Characters section.

New character, Oni v1.0 from Rage of the Dragons, with his stage

Continuing with the excellent Rage of the Dragons, I couldn't resist converting my second favourite character, Oni, to Mugen. He's a cool and aggressive fighter which could be defined as a mixture of Wolverine and Iori Yagami. Take a look at the Mugen Characters to find him.

You can also find his stage in the Mugen Stages section. This stage has, for me, the best soundtrack in the whole Neo-Geo history, period, really moody, full of guitar riffs and hummable melodies.

Elias Patrick from Rage of the Dragons released, along with his stage

So I said in the last post I was getting tired of direct conversions... So I lied a bit ^_^U. I still fall for games and characters I like. And I did like the Rage of the Dragons game, it did derserved a tribute, so here it is. What's a shame is that the ROM were released so soon v_v. Oh well, that's another story. Anyway, from all the characters in that game, the one I liked most is Elias Patrick, an exorcist priest with a very particular way of converting people ;). Please take a look at him at the Mugen Characters section.

Along with the character, I've also converted his stage, Elias' Church. The best thing about it is its outstanding soundtrack, really envolvent, it even has opera vocals. You can find it in the Mugen Stages section.

Something at last! New WIP's section, and Mauru True Final (the revenge) update

Whoa! Nearly 9 months of inactivity! That's a lot O_o. Well, there are two reasons for this: one, I don't have as much time as I'd like to spend with Mugen, and two, I'm been working in several projects (five counting Mauru) at once. Most of them aren't simple conversions (I'm a bit tired of those) but more original stuff, and that takes time. I've opened a WIP's section with info on the characters I'm working on, in case anybody cares.

Also, I've finished updating Mauru, whose latest version was more than 2 1/2 years old O_o, so I upgraded him to meet Mugen's current standards. This version fixes bugs, fills up holes and is way more balanced. There are technically no new moves, but several of the existing ones have received tweaks or have been reworked to make them more useful/interesting. And more importantly, Mauru is not so dumb anymore, he's got an AI now. If this appeals you, please go to the Mugen Characters section and take a look. Hope you like it :).

Kurenai from Sengoku 3 (Stage One) is ready

Aha, the little crimson ninja from SNK's latest beat'em up, Sengoku 3, makes her appearance in the Mugen world. It's heavily inspired in the arcade, with all her crazy combos, but also with a new projectile system, some things she was lacking in the arcade, and a powerful (but not too much) AI. It plays a bit different of your usual fighter, but it's an interesting twist. Go to the Mugen Characters section, check her out, and see if you like her.

All right!! 3 releases at one go today!

Mmm I guess today is a good day, 3 releases at one go :D. Without further ado, let's get down to them:

  • First, the Metal Slug Train Bonus Game, inspired in Metal Slug 2's 5th level. Crush that damn tain before it crushes you! It's a really good Bonus Game if you want to vent some stress ;). Get it at the Mugen Characters section.
  • Second, the Breakers Screenpack. If you liked the game you'll like this, and if you didn't know the game, you could want to take a look at it. Get it in the Mugen Screenpacks section.
  • And last but not least, the Mesón de la Taberna stage. It's Vega-Balrog stage in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, the one with the grate and the Spanish cantaores in the background. It includes (optionally) the best music available for it, the one from the PC CD version, which is little less than legendary if you ask me ^^. Get it at the Mugen Stages section.

Advices section evolved to Tutorials! And the first one is the Sprite Ripping Tutorial

I just realized that my Advices section was accumulating a dense layer of dust, so I decided to renovate it and have promoted it to Tutorials category XD. And to start with it nothing better than beginning from the beginning, so I've written this Sprite Ripping Tutorial, a guide made to help those who want to starting Mugenizing but don't know very well how.

Shin Inverse's Hideout is back, thanks to www.mgbr.net

That's it, after being banished for no reason from my previous host and remaining siteless for a couple weeks, Shin Inverse's Hideout resurfaces thanks to DeleteBR and the good fellows at www.mgbr.net. A big Thanks from here, you rock!

Another new chararacter!! Dao-Long 100%, from Breaker's, get it nowwww

Well, having converted Sho already, I thought: "why not have the hot couple?", so I converted his rival Dao-Long, who is as cool or even more than Sho :D. As always, I made him as close to the original as I could (although that could change if I get some good ideas). Get it in the Mugen Characters section, and while you are at it, take a look at the slight new touch I gave it ^_^.

New chararacter!! Sho 100%, from Breaker's now available.

I've gone berserk on Mugen this summer ;), and now I bring you a new character: Sho 100%, from Visco Games's excellent game Breaker's. It aims to be a conversion as faithfully as possible to the arcade and if you ask me, it plays really good. Go straight to Mugen Characters and grab him ;).

Just finished Psylocke's Marvel Super Heroes's stage, "Uptown Express"

Looks like I have a crush for Psylocke's stages... Anyway, here it is, in my opinion, the coolest background in Marvel Super Heroes, "Uptown Express". I like it a lot, you fight on a train, with Chinese neons and tunnels passing by, and the sky turning from sunset to night. Very colourful. It has a nice BGM too. Grab it at Mugen Stages.

7/14/2001
Psylocke's X-Men's stage, "Moon Light" is finished

Not a very big update today, but a good one however. Last week I felt a sudden love for X-Men Children Of The Atom, and also fell in love with Psylocke's "Moon Light" stage, so I converted it for Mugen :). It took more than a week but it's complete now. It's a beautiful stage, you fight on a platform in what looks like some kind of factory or processing plant. The platform moves as the fight takes place, and eventually rises to the top of the building, with a charming moonlit cityscape in the background. If this description teased you, you can find it at Mugen Stages.

Two more things: the Mugen Stages section has been slightly modified, hopefully for the better. It should be clearer now. I also noticed that some people prefer music and some don't, so I added a non-BGM version to every stage.

Slash v2.0 (100%) has been released, and more

One month and 2/3 since my latest release. Mmm, not that bad. Anyway, there are some new little things here at Inverse's Hideout. These they are:

  • I've released v2.0 of Slash. It's the complete (not necessary final) version, as faithful to the original as possible. Get it at Mugen Characters.

  • Also, in advance of my next Mugen character, Sho from Breakers Revenge, I converted his stage, Sho's Dojo. And while I was in it, I converted Dao-long's Sky Temple stage too. You can find them at Mugen Stages.

  • Updated my older stages to the new Mugen (it only involved commenting out the stage's name in the .def files).

5/1/2001
Roomi v2.1 patch is available

Looks like there were some nasty bugs in last version of Roomi. You can get the upgrade patch for her in the Mugen Characters section.

4/22/2001
Roomi v2.0 (150%) is ready for action, and more

That's right, the second stage in Roomi's development is complete. Far surpassing the original, it features easier to do commands, new moves, ES versions of all special moves, new maneuvers, new colors, and SUPER mode, thus increasing her gameplay potential and making her a worthy fighter ;) To get het, take a look to the Mugen Characters section.
I also converted a new stage, this time it's Kazuma's stage. It's a simple, but dark and moody background with techno-ninja-esque music. You can grab it at the Mugen Stages section.

For all not Spanish-speakers: Inverse's Hideout now has a Spanish version too.

12/16/2000
Yeehaw!! An update!! And it's a new character!!

All right, I've taken a long vacation... Maybe too long after all. So it was time for an update, and there is a better update than a new character? So here is Roomi! The lovely cat-girl from Galaxy Fight makes her debut in Mugen, and she plays fairly accurately to the original (or so I think, at least). There are two versions: a 3-button one and a 4-button one. Find the details in the Mugen Characters section.
And along with Roomi, you can get her stage too. You can find it at the Mugen Stages section.

8/19/2000
Some little but necessary updates

They arrive one month later than they should, but anyway, better late than never ;) The updates of Mauru, Slash and the Waku Waku 7 Fight Pack for Mugen version 2000.6.27. They were almost complete one month ago, but then i had to go on a vacation trip ^_^ ... You can get them at their corresponding sections.

7/16/2000
Yeah baby! Major Update!!!

Well, well, well... Today's going to be a good day... At least, I'm back from exams with something worthy (I think). There are many new things this time, so well... take your time ^_~ Here they are:

  • First of all, introducing the first version of Slash!!! That would be version 1.0 (50 % approximately) With full sound and boxes, he's fairly playable. Check him out in the Mugen Characters section.
  • Along with Slash's release, Slash's Stage is also available, it is my first one. Get it in the new Mugen Stages section.
  • And the Waku Waku 7 Fight Pack. This recreates the atmosphere and visual effects of this great game. It comes with bars, sounds, fonts and sparks. If you don't have any I humbly but strongly recommend to get it. And if you already have one, please try it, you'll find it in the Mugen Other Stuff section.
  • Another new section, Mugen Advices, if you are a newbie please take a look at it, in fact it wouldn't harm if you did id anyway if you aren't one ;).
  • And finally, some cosmetic changes to the site. The old graphics were a bit "plain".

I sincerely hope you like the new stuff. If you have something to tell me, specially about Slash, you know, my e-mail is at the top of this page ;)

Yahoo! I did it!!! Mauru Final Version finished !!!

It's been long as hell, but it's here. After working non-stop for the last hours, I bring you Mauru's final update. Check out his 4 new WakuWaku strikers and the Super Mode!! Well, there's more, but I won't tell you here, so you'll have to enter the MUGEN section to find out.

Inverse's Hideout changes its face!

I didn't like the old site layout so I've done a new one, with a slightly better conceptual organization. Hope you like it :).

At least!!! Mauru revision 4 released !!

Whew!! It's exactly one month ago since I updated Mauru for the last time, but I got it :) (I survived a hard disk crash). Now, with the new feaures of the recently released MUGEN, Mauru is virtually complete, and with a look & feel very similar to the original. It has turned a fun and challenging char to play as or against, so you should go to the Downloads section and download him now, you won't get dissappointed (I hope).

12/11/1999
Mauru v3.0 released !!

After some weeks of inactivity, an update at least!! I'm into making Mauru's special moves, and things are not going half bad :) In fact, I'd say he's turning into an interesting and enjoyable fighter for you to enjoy. What ? You are still reading this ? Come on, waste no time and get it from the Downloads section!.

11/27/1999
WakuWaku 7 Fight Sound Pack is ready !

This is a fight sound pack for Mugen I did just for fun, featuring WakuWaku 7's fight sounds. Check it out if you can, especially if you haven't any and are tired of Mugen's default fight sounds. You can download it from the Downloads section.

11/23/1999
Big update on Mauru !!!

After a week without updates, version 2.0 of Mauru is available. Now with sound, he now has all basic moves, with many nifty combos for you to discover and abuse :). Check it out in the Downloads section and tell me what you think of it.

11/13/1999
Mauru shows up !!!

Well, this is my first work in the Mugen scene, and for my debut I chose to replicate my all-time favourite character, Mauru from the marvelous NeoGeo game WakuWaku 7. He es a cute big and dumb Totoro-ish creature that leaves his natal woods to kick some butt. A curious note: he is carrying a schoolgirl in his back all time during the fights! Really fun to play and to watch (try making him lose to time - it is a bit difficult to win with him in his current state anyway). He is in a very early stage (he has no attacks yet) but the basis is almost done (hopefully no blank frames).

11/13/1999
Inverse' s Hideout is up & running! ^_^

Here it is. My place for showing my works (future and past - there are not much of these) to the world. There isn't much yet, but I plan to add things here where I have the time. Only two sections available now, Mugen and Quake 2, but who knows what will come in the future... Anyway, enjoy your visit.
